A Changing Table To Fit Your NeedsAs a new parent, you can easily become overwhelmed by all the choices and decisions that need to be made when selecting the various items for your precious arrival. Some items can be put at the bottom of the “must buy” list, but a changing table is definitely at the top. Before you head out and make that purchase, take a minute to consider some options available to you and then you can make an informed decision as to whether a traditional changing table is the right choice for you and your baby. It is possible to find a changing table in many styles and varieties at online stores. They come in many shapes and sizes and each one offers its own unique features. However, changing tables are not your only option when it comes to purchasing this important piece of furniture for your baby’s nursery. While they are designed to offer you maximum accessibility, comfort and practicality when it comes to changing your baby, if you are someone who is looking for more of an investment, a piece of furniture that will last you and your baby a bit longer, then there are other options available to you. Currently, I have three friends who are living examples of at least three options when it comes to a changing table. All three swear by their choices, therefore, it really is up to you in deciding what will work best. Friend number one has the change table. She loves it because it perfectly stores all the necessary items neatly and conveniently in a centralized location. She never has to reach very far when changing her baby and it is a very compact piece of furniture, which she needed because the room is very small and would not fit a change table and dresser. Friend number two has the convertible change table, which is a blend of a dresser, some shelving and a space where the change pad fits perfectly. This piece is taller in stature, has shelving on top and while it can function as a dresser, it doesn’t have a lot of drawers and seems to be more of a teddy bear, accessories collector than anything else. My third friend is someone who was looking for a future investment. In fact, her nursery furniture is not a set. Instead, she opted to purchase a dresser and armoire separate from the baby crib so that the furniture could last the children into their teenage years. The dressers were bought low enough that she could easily put her change pad on top and the top drawers are used to store the baby diapers, cloths, and other essential items. The surface space is wide enough and long enough to accommodate the change pad comfortably, as well as the baby wipes and other necessary contents. I suppose a changing table can be whatever you want it to be, as long as you have a good change pad. In the end, it really becomes a question of personal choice and taste. However, now you are armed with some of the options available to you and you can make an informed decision that will best suit you and your baby. About The Author: |
