Nursing bras can double as maternity bras when you are pregnant. They also have fuller cups to cover up more of your breasts to help reduce the extra pull of weight on your chest muscles.
Please keep in mind that some bra companies still sell nursing bras with underwires, and it is now well documented that underwires do cause breast infections in breastfeeding mothers. So please try to avoid purchasing a nursing bra that comes with underwires. Some very reputable companies carry very good nursing bras and maternity bras: Olga bras, Playtex bras, Bravado nursing bra, etc. Just remember to check any brand to make sure that there is no underwire!
