Double Stroller Duty: The Names You Need to KnowIf you were blessed (or cursed) with twins, or you have two young children you need to cart around, then it’s time to invest in a double stroller. Fortunately, today’s manufacturers have been able to master the art of designing a double stroller, so that they are more functional, flexible and not so cumbersome. A double stroller that is one of the more expensive, yet versatile, double strollers on the market today is the Peg--Perego G-Matic Duette. With a price tag of approximately $500 US, this fashionable baby stroller is not all about looks – it’s durable and experts say it should last you years. The Duette is a tandem stroller (children sit one in front of the other) and can be reversed so that the children can also sit side by side. Furthermore, it is designed so that the Peg-Perego infant carriers can fit inside to make a full travel system. However, it does weigh approximately 44 pounds, making it a bit heavy to pull in and out of your trunk. Another double stroller that is a tandem deluxe stroller is the Grace Duo Glider. If you are looking for something that is under $250 then this double baby stroller might be for you. The Duo Glider is favored by children because of its “stadium style” of seating, whereby the rear child sits a little higher than the front child. If you are looking for a durable double stroller voted by parents as “the one they wish they had bought”, then perhaps the Maclaren Twin Traveler is for you. This stroller is suitable for infant use and has the benefit of two reclining seats. Furthermore, it comes with a rain hood (not an extra expense) and is very compact, making it easy to travel with. Although it is priced at approximately $350, this baby stroller is a popular one amongst parents because it’s easier to handle than other strollers especially if you are making a lot of trips requiring you to get in and out of the car frequently. One final winner when it comes to a lightweight double stroller is Kolcraft’s Side-by-Side Umbrella Stroller. This lighter less bulky model is approximately $80 and is not as fancy as the strollers mentioned above. It doesn’t have any drink trays, fully reclining seats, or storage baskets, but it’s easy to lift in and out of the car and is fine if you need something temporary or not as heavy duty.
